Recommendations for washer drier

For a small flat.
No way to vent so would have to be a condenser.
I have never had a condenser drier so would like to hear experiences.
TIA.

Can you stack separate machines? The combined ones don’t tend to be great.

I love my Samsung ecobubble washer and Whirlpool condenser drier. John Lewis is always a good site for reading reviews

It is a tiny flat.Sad
Nowhere to dry washing so I thought a washer drier would be good. Especially in winter.

Thank you.
Is it reasonably quiet?

washer drier advice? Either separate or washer only.

I have 10kg version of that Hoover.
It's quite noisy but other than that it's great. Obviously you have to watch out forsome clothes.... Shrank few tshirts. My fault though

Quodlibet · 06/08/2018 21:36

I have an LG Turbodrive with I think 8kg capacity. It's 5 yrs old now and still very quiet.
It does take a long time to dry clothes (2 to 3 hours) but that's standard with washer/driers. It's never ruined a piece of clothing.

I know washer driers arent ideal. That us why I have never had one. But this flat is tiny and it will have to go in the hallway.
Laundrette isnt an option.
I guess we can hang washing up in the summer with the windows open but not in winter.

Have you considered slimline ones? Filled from top?

MadameJosephine · 06/08/2018 21:55

The spin cycle is quite loud but otherwise it’s ok. I never put it on late at night out of consideration for the neighbours anyway

endofthelinefinally · 06/08/2018 22:03

I did wonder about slimline ones, but I didn't see any when I was googling.
I will search again.

I've heard that Miele make the only combination washer-dryers that actually dry.

Jfw82 · 06/08/2018 22:10

Have you considered heated airer- you can get from Lakeland and I'd take one of those over a combined washer drier. They're fab :)

endofthelinefinally · 06/08/2018 22:14

Yes I love the lakeland heated airer but I cant think where to store it or use it.

I will look up all the makes and models mentioned.
Thank you everyone.

Not necessarily a recommendation as I've now invested in a separate dryer but I've had an Indecit W/D for over 10 years. Mine washes 6kg and dries 5kg which in practice means you have to dry king size bedding in two loads to avoid creasing - each of over 2 hrs.
Is it just you OP or do you have a DP or DCs? If it's just you, I'd dry clothes over a radiator in the winter, with a de-humidifier. Are all your clothes suitable to be TDryed? (Bitter experience!)

JamMakingWannaBe · 06/08/2018 23:07

Can you put a ceiling airer (Sheila's maid?) in somewhere? They can offer 10m of hanging space and if you have high ceilings clothes can be dried out of the way.

PickAChew · 06/08/2018 23:10

Bosch/Siemens are good. You're still talking 4-5 hours to dry a 7kg wash load, mind. And, whatever you get, buy it from somewhere that offers a 5 year warranty quite reasonably because those things break, no matter what you pay.
