Our buyer has pulled out :(

No real question I just wanted to rant really. Our buyer pulled out last week a couple of days before we were due to exchange. I'm so stressed now as we risk losing our dream forever home. This system absolutely sucks that people are allowed to do this and it ends up costing us money.
Anyone else out there in this situation and want to go through the process together?
Our house is back on the market but only had one viewing so far, the agents are saying the first couple of weeks of the summer holidays are always super quiet and it will pick up soon.

Yy to everything Bluntness said, when we were selling our UK house before we moved abroad (pre DC thankfully) we have five buyers back out due to "cold feet" Hmm

So often you read threads on here where the buyer has "made an awful mistake" or such, excluding buyers who have genuine reasons to pull out, its plain selfish to dick people around and cost them money.

Yes, it is the people.

The people who 'changed their minds' on exchange day then changed them back 3 months later are now desperate to sell and getting very upset apparently.

They are obviously very flaky and untrustworthy generally and I wouldn't enter into any business arrangement with them!

The thing is you can't create a system that prevents arseholes being arseholes, it would penalise everyone and be so constrained as to be unusable.

The thing is there is always going to be a small percentage of people who mess others around. Cold feet, changed their minds, arguing over small shit, it is just unfortunate if you happen to be buying or selling to one of them, and there is no way to tell until you're too far into it to know that you are dealing with one of them.

My sympathies, OP. I hope the situation can be resolved.
