Didn’t quite know where to put this, but here goes..

Came home from work yesterday to find my patio doors (insideConfused)covered in flies, bluebottles. Got rid and the same has happened again todayHmmThere is no smell or rotting food anywhere, no dead animals etc, does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

Thank you!

Our entire village has the same problem. It’s a small Lincolnshire village surrounded by fields and we suspect the cause is agricultural.

It’s disgusting isn’t it?

Is anyone doing anything about it psycho? I didn’t know whether to call the council?

I have the same thing in my conservatory. I just don't know what to do.

We back onto a field with cows. Could it be this?

The council do know about it. We have a village Facebook group and lots of people have reported the issue. It’s apparently ‘under investigation’ but they have agreed that it is an unusual infestation.

Some of the pictures people have posted are insane. One woman has a fly zapper and after half a day the tray was filled to the brim with dead flies.

We have clouds of flies in the centre of each room, they land on you all day, it’s gross!

Get a tin of Raid and go beserk. It won't get rid entirely but it works a bit and makes you feel better. Shut the door once you've sprayed a few of the little sods and raid kills the rest. Flies talk to each other so word will get round (really).

If raid kills them how can't they talk to each other....

This has happened to us except with flying ants (our house is surrounded by fields). The advice given by an exterminator was to open all the windows, and they will fly out. Apparently, the heat is driving the ants out of their nests, and they're simply looking for an exit which is why they cling to windows.

Not sure whether this will work for flies but perhaps worth a try.
