Has anyone been on a plumbing for householders course?

I'm tired of being let down by poor workmanship esp in bathrooms and would like to acquire the confidence to at least diagnose problems correctly, and ideally tackle simple jobs. I'm looking for a course in the London area. Has anyone tried one they could recommend? TIA.

I did one at my local college (3 hours one night a week for10 weeks). This link looks similar to what I covered: thebtc.co.uk/brochure/foundation-plumbing-courses/

Thanks Monkey. Did you find it useful?Have you put what you learnt into practice?

I did and I have. I managed to repair the toilet flush that had been duff since I moved in and have also replaced a couple of sets of basin taps. The problem is I now get invited to people's houses and they ask me to bring my toolbox!

Hahaha! Small price to pay maybe?.That’s the stage I want to get to, be known as a plumbing guru!
I’ve also found a course which sounds like a good beginners intro: www.thegoodlifecentre.co.uk/workshop

I'm pretty sure my course cost around £75 which is what it costs to call a plumber out in my area. It's definitely paid for itself several times over!
