Can we add a dishwasher to this kitchen?

We have just done a pre-exchange visit to a house we are trying to buy, and I have realised it may not be possible to add a dishwasher. I had assumed we could add one next to the washing machine, but the cupboard next to the washing machine has all this gumph in it. It is at the bottom of the pic and looks like a cross between some sort of motor and engine:

Under the sink obviously has the u-bend under it, so that isn't an option, though that is quite a big cupboard.

Can the motor/engine thing in the cupboard be moved to under the sink and a dishwasher put in that cupboard instead? What is it?

There is also an under the counter space on the other side of the kitchen, obvs no plumbing there, though there are electrical sockets.

Is there any chance of moving the washing machine to a bathroom or outhouse ? The dishwasher could then go where the washing machine is.
Alternatively you would have to re jig the whole kitchen I think.
We had a tiny kitchen and had to put a lot of the white goods in the garage, but not knowing what other space you have available, this might not be possible.

Bubblesbuddy I agree. But opposite the 'breakfast bar' (I hadn't even realised that is what it was supposed to be) is the cupboard with the gas metre and pipes in it, the washing machine, the oven and one other cupboard between the oven and the door that you could fit a dishwasher in. I will ask a plumber about that possibility.

We don't have a garage/outhouse or bathroom big enough but we do have a big cupboard in the porch housing a tumble dryer, so is defo big enough and I would prefer the washing machine out of the kitchen. It has no plumbing in it though and I have no idea how feasible that is practically or cost wise.
