White walls, grey woodwork anyone?

Has anyone done this? Currently contemplating decorating my new house. It's a rural 1950s semi.

Before I moved in a slapped white paint everywhere and it's brightened the dark rooms brilliantly.
But now I'm about to hang new doors and wondering if a very pale grey would work?

I've always stuck to white for woodwork and not sure if changing this would be a good idea!

I did in my last property and it looked great. Grey is one of my favourite colours though, so I did it because I liked it rather than to follow a trend.

We went for a slightly darker blue-based grey than the one in your link. One word of advice - get really good quality masking tape and be prepared to spend time getting your lines dead straight. Any wobbles will be instantly noticeable!

Check out Young House Love's beach house, they've just done this and it looks fab. Apartment Apothecary in her new house too as I recall.

We're in a new build and all the walls are white with mid-grey doors and skirting. It's nice enough for now but I know it will date quickly and be a complete ball ache to paint over. I think I'll just sell the house tbh Grin

Ooooo, thank you, all!

I'm hoping for a v country look iyswim. It's quite a dark and cosy house small and the white walls woodchip have lightened it but I like the idea of a creamy grey to frame them.

Tbh, the thought of decorating is overwhelming in this heat. But it's the one thing I can do myself. The budget is dwindling and the jobs aren't getting any smaller. Just want to say I've made an effort on the house over the summer hols really. Wink

F&B's French Grey would look really good and give you a country kitchen vibe. I'm having my kitchen and built in wardrobes sprayed soon and am planning Plummet for the dressing room and Downpipe for the kitchen.

My advice would be go for something that you love, so then it doesn't matter if it dates or not. I adore grey so I love having it in the house and am not bothered if it goes out of fashion.

Go for it, OP!

I'm looking at doing this in one of our rooms at the moment but the only grey interior wood paint I can find that's not specifically for furniture or F&B as I'm a tight arse is Dulux Polished Pebble.

Would be interested in any tips & paint suggestions.
