What colour kitchen units would you have if you could choose anything?

I started a very similar thread in chat yesterday so I hope it’s ok to repeat here. Got some lovely suggestions but I still can’t make up my mind. I need to decide within the next couple of weeks so any ideas/suggestions/pictures will be greatly appreciated!

I’m leaning towards white marble worktops but nothing is set in stone.

I want black but I’m nervous. I’m finding it impossible to decide. It needs to go with oak beams and a lot of exposed brick, so the room is a bit on the dark side already. And what on Earth do you put on the floor with black units?

@MadMaryBoddington I put down oak flooring. If it's already dark and you don't feel confident go for lighter units or really good quality lighting fixtures. It really depends on person's taste. Some people like dark rooms, some don't.

I’m put off wood on the floor because we currently have sanded floorboards and they are a total pita. I’d prefer nice wipe-cleanable stone tiles but I can’t work out what would go with black units.
