Noise from neighbour's wall mounted TV

Hello - our new neighbours have a wall mounted TV and the noise is awful. You can hear the dialogue, but what's worse is the constant, tinnitus-like vibration. They are perfectly reasonable about it and have promised to do something, but have suggested that this should be getting a sound bar. Now, I am no audio expert (could not, in fact, be less of an expert) but does this not hold a danger of making it even worse? I thought sound bars were things people bought to make their TV sound even more superduperloud etc. Any advice much appreciated. At the moment I can't watch TV in my own sitting room if they are because it's so bad.

They can put the soundbar away from the wall, maybe even opposite so completely away from your house.
At least the sub woofer will be away so the bass doesn't vibr

Ah cool I guess that would help! I don't think the walls themselves are too bad, as we were never aware of the old neighbours TV. So hopefully that would indeed kill the vibrations, which I swear go straight through me!

I hate this sort of inconsiderate behaviour. I hope the soundbar does help if its put on the other side of the room. My neighbours have a wall mounted TV and the sound is awful at times. I have complained twice but they still have it loud - clearly coudn't care. Thankfully I'm selling my house so it will be someone else's problem soon,.
If this continues, contact your council environmental health department who will come out and assess the noise for you.

We have our speaker in a corner away from the tv and the neighbours (it’s on 3.5mm cable) and it works great
