Will garden be overlooked?

Hi ladies

I am considering buying a new build property which is 2nd from last in a row of 6 detached houses. The row forms a cul de sac but the plans show that the gardens will back onto the gardens of a mirror image row of 6.

The gardens are 10 metres (32 ft) long so the houses will be 20 metres (64 ft) away. I am worried that the garden will be too badly overlooked but DP thinks the distance is ok.

I would be interested in the views of anyone kind enough to give their thoughts please!

Yes you will be overlooked unless the house opposite has no windows 😂

It won’t be private but I think the distance will not feel hugely overlooked

i had an estate of new builds built behind me.

My garden is 15m long so they built the houses as close as legally possible for window to window distance so they’re about 20m away with only 5 m long gardens.

They do feel a bit close sometimes but how often do you sit in your upstairs bedroom window looking out? Only 2 houses over look me with 2 non obsured windows

90% of new builds are like. From my understanding they put the plot into a computer and it generates the best plan to maximise space on current rules/plot density.

There are £900k top end new build houses by me with similar window to window distances. So can’t be an issue for a lot of people.
