Minerva or Quartz worktop?

Shot in the dark but wondering if anyone has any opinion on this...

we have ordered a kitchen with white sparkly Minerva. Our main reasoning behind going with minerva was due to being able to sand it down if any stains etc. However, I am starting to have doubts if we should swap it to a quartz worktop which has a bit of a nicer feel to it.

My main aim is for the kitchen to look like a quality kitchen; we are spending a lot of money and I want it to be a feature.... does anyone have any opinion as to whether Minerva still gives off the same quality look and feel as quartz?

Thank you

We have quartz too( unistone Bianca Carrera) ..I looked at Minerva also as I was really concerned about stains - 5 men (+ 2 girlfriends who cook alot) and lots of tea made and stains left overnight but nearly a year on it is still beautiful and not a mark on it and its white too ! Not cheap but neither is Minerva

Silestone here, 2 years on its as beautiful as the day it was installed, unlike our last kitchen which was oak and knackered the day we put it in.

I’ve just had a white matt quartz worktop fitted. It’s girg and doesn’t stain.
We had a party and the following morning there were red wine stains from stem glasses On it.
They just wiped off.

We had a similar dilemma and went for quartz. It just feels nicer. The minerva is very good but a little plastic-y. And ultimately once I'd negotiated there wasn't a lot in the price either.

I found Minerva came in at more than quartz in the end, and didn't look as nice (imo)!

Thank you all. We went with your advice and got the quartz quoted instead but alas it's £2k more! ShockConfused

I have white glitter quartz. If it gets a little grubby I wipe it over with baby bottle steriliser. It comes up brilliant.

I did a lot of research and decided I didn't want to have to worry about using the worktop so quartz came out on top

Quoted from where? There's a HUGE variation - try finding a small local place and haggle. We got a quote from Lunastone and got a local place to match it - ended up with Silestone!

We went to the direct supplier. That's double the cost of the current Minerva quote. I had made up my mind that you were all right and I should change but now I'm not sure if that's really doable to double our worktop cost which is so disappointing. We are going to get another cost from a local kitchen place to see if they will do worktop only and keep our fingers crossed.

My quote for quartz was £1600 less
