Shed circuit tripped - not coming back on

Our shed electrics have tripped, which is odd as nothing in the shed/outside circuit is plugged into anything. My husband flipped the switch for the circuit, but it still wasn't working, so he's left it on 'off' for now.

He said the small test device at floor level in the shed isn't working either, but apparently that makes sense as there's no power.

We did have a tiny, momentary, powercut on Sunday night, the oven etc weren't showing the right time when I got up on Monday morning, but the house circuits are all ok, it's just the shed that seems to be problematic.

Would anyone have any ideas, or experiences, to help with this sort of thing? Thanks for any help!

Leak in the shed? Currently getting our shed fixed due to this.

Who wired up the shed?
How is the power supplies to the shed?
How is the shed powered on the consumer unit?

Where does the power to the shed run? Is it underground if so has there been any damage to the cable? If you don't know and it's underground DONOT try digging it up to check as you run the risk of electrocution if it's not been wired/buried correctly.

Thanks all!

No leak in the shed, no rain for weeks!

The shed was wired by the previous owners, but after we moved in it was all checked out and anything problematic fixed (I don't think there was much) by our electrician. I'm not sure how old it all is, but we've been in the house for 3 years.

The shed is on the consumer unit, that's where the switch was in the 'off' position. The power runs outside in waterproof/outdoor protected cable covering (not sure of correct names) I think it goes a tiny bit below ground at some point, but not deep and it's probably more that it's got covered by the soil in the garden at some point. No damage to the cable, or anything, as far as we are aware.

Oddly enough, I thought it was all the power for the garden that was out, but apparently the outside sockets which are at the opposite end of the garden, are working fine. It's just the electricity, so lighting mainly, to the shed that isn't working.

We were told that the switch needed to be fully switched off before being turned on again, but that still hasn't helped.
