Somewhere commutable to Manchester and Liverpool?

DH will be in Liverpool 5 days a week and I’ll be in Manchester 5 days a week. Neither of us are familiar with the north west other than Warrington, which we’re excluding.

I’d really appreciate some suggestions on where people think are nice areas?

We’ll both need to drive as we need our cars for work so a lack of public transport isn’t an issue. We like green spaces and pubs Our budget is £200k.

That's exactly what I thought namechanged. Twenty years ago it was really bad and public transport a far better option. Can't imagine it's got better!

What’s the best place to live for commuting between Manchester and Liverpool? We have been in Manchester for a year, but from September hubby will be commuting to Liverpool for studies, but working in Manchester. We have already made some friends in Manchester that we would like to stay not too far of. I will be working from home so won’t need to commute unless for catch ups with people. We have two small kids so great nurseries/schools and parks near by would be great. Also we are looking to buy our first property.
