What to use to fill a hole under new window

We had a window replaced, a security one so presumably won't move in any way (to go with a heavy duty door and metal frame). The job was done badly and we have had the company back several times already, the guy said he would come back when the rain had stopped and fill it but we have had enough because the repairs never work. Water comes in from somewhere so I don't want to leave it. It is outdoors.

So, I am going to fill it, while the weather is dry. The question is what with? The brickwork has been broken off, so do I use mortar or expanding foam? I have looked at both but not sure which would be best.

Also, I can't use a filling gun, physically unable to do it.I am thinking of using ready mixed mortar.

Any thoughts and suggestions please?

Can you post a picture of the hole? Normally new windows are given a final seal with silicone caulk, but if it's a large hole that's probably not going to work,

My friend suggested caulk but I think the missing bit is a bit big for that. Will get a photo when it is cooler outside, it is hotter out there than anywhere just now and I can't take the heat.

The inside was sealed (badly) and has some cheap plastic edging that almost fits, the door leaks at the bottom and we have complained a few times, so also need to get a proper seal fixed to that, will probably be asking about that in due course. If anyone wants to know who the company was that did this please PM me because I wouldn't recommend them at all (name starts with M).

I think I’d ask Trading Standards for advice - you paid money to get a security window fixed and they’ve bodged the job.

We thought about Small claims court actually as it is the door and the window and it cost a lot, took months to arrive and has been very badly done, cement dripped all over the steps, door leaks, letterbox has rusted inside... We actually get puddles on the floor now when the rain blows towards the door. It needs a proper seal but they only put those plastic strips on and just re-position them when we have called them back. Have yet to leave reviews.

Neighbours door also leaks, we used the company because they did.

You do need to take this further, without trying to sort it out yourselves. That level of...erm... workmanship is disgraceful.

If anyone searches for a security door (it works as a door) or window, the company is Israeli, so I would say avoid them, I know these threads show in searches.

I just want to fill the gap before the wet weather starts again. We don't want them back as we are rather pissed off about the whole thing. As I said, not left any reviews yet, but I will.

You would be well within you rights to have the repairs made by a better tradesperson of your choice, at their expense. Ring trading standards and they will advise you on how to proceed- you have given them a fair crack at repairing it themselves, you shouldn't have to resort to diy.
