White gloss and painting a fireplace

I was hoping someone could recommend me a white gloss that doesn't go yellow?

I'm also going to paint our fireplace - it's a new build style electric fireplace that is a very yellow cream - it needs to be white imo. Would gloss be suitable or would something like eggshell be better. I did think about chalk paint but I'm not sure it's tough enough to stand up to my family!

When you say fireplace which bit do you mean? Inside or the breast. I’m sat looking at mine and I’ve got different paints on different bits.

It's not really a fireplace, it's a wooden surround for a awful looking electric fire it feels like plasticky wood/Mdf!

We only plan on staying a few more years but I can't stand the look of it any longer!

Satinwood - water based. Give it a light sand and a coat of primer like Zinsser for painted wood. Two coats of satinwood - use a gloss roller for a smooth finish on flat areas.

Agree, go with satinwood not gloss.

Never, ever use gloss. Satin or eggshell is a much better finish. Gloss is very dated!

I'm pretty sure we've got serious in other areas of the house on doors etc and I'm not keen on the finish and found it's not been very hard wearing so perhaps Eggshell might be better?
