How difficult (or not) is it to replace one integrated dishwasher with another please?

Dishwasher (fully integrated) given up the ghost. Replacement under extended warranty thingy ordered - but no option to have it "installed" as part of the deal.

How tricky would it be for a low experienced but reasonably OK DIY person to do it? If I take the door off the existing D/Washer (have googled, seems to be a case of a few hex-screws), unplug from the electrics and...er...undo the waterpipe things.....

Can it really be that difficult? Is it just the reverse? Or do I need to get someone in? If so who do I book please?

We did it ourselves. Was fairly easy. Hardest bit was getting cupboard door to fit on new one

I'd consider asking around for a recommended local appliance repairman, they do it more often than anyone else. A plumber or DIYer can do it, but they (should) keep referring to the instructions and may not know useful tips.

Go to a local domestic appliance shop they only charge about £20 for fitting.

I think an integrated may cost more as there's more work. A free-standing appliance is quick and easy.

bastard of a job unless you are both strong and flexible. pay someone who is to do it.

We did it two weeks ago. Bought exactly the same model again to make fitting easier. We could even use the same screwholes! Most challenging bit was lining it all up properly but just needed to wiggle it around a bit. Would recommend having two people do it.

Just reporting back. I probably could have done it as the fittings etc etc were identical (Siemens swapped for a Bosch). However it turns out one of the husbands of my netball teammates is a Siemens Bosch engineer and he came over and did it for me.

To be honest it took him half an hour. It would have taken me probably double that. And one thing he took the time to do was make sure it was level (which I may not have done). I was glad he was there to do it to be honest - largely as the instructions were totally incomprehensible - you know the sort - all in pictures with random arrows, crosses and ticks.
