Mistake with Permitted Development Rights

Sorry, this is rather long and boring!

In 2015 we had a 2-storey rear extension and some internal alterations made to our house, all within permitted development rights - or so I thought. It transpires that the two 1st floor (bathroom) windows (new openings) we had installed to the side of the house don’t comply - they’re meant to be non-opening up to 1.7m from the floor (so just a small window at the top) whereas ours are a full height opening window (about 1.2m from the floor). They are obscure glass though and we can’t actually see much of our neighbours house (the windows open out towards the back of the house) and we didn’t need a party wall agreement.

I thought we had been so careful reading everything thoroughly but we completely missed this. It was all signed off by Building Control and we have the Building Regulations Certificate. My concern is that if we come to sell, will this error be picked up?? My husband says to leave it - he’s worried I’m going to run off to planning! - but I’m thinking maybe we should change them. I know it sounds daft but things like this really stress me out!! Any advice?

Leave it - once four years have elapsed the planners can't force you to change it. If your neighbours haven't complained the chances of anyone picking up on it are small.
