Has anyone installed silstone Calcutta gold or similar marble look quartz worktops?
How much did it cost you per linear meter?
Looking for best price for new dream kitchen
In Surrey close to London.
My builder tells me this type of quartz is twice the price of a "freckled " quartz ( that I don't like...

I've seen the Calacatta gold - it's gorgeous! Price is band 6, we didn't end up going with it (DP didn't like it - booh). But yes it's about double the price of band 1. If you can see it in a big slab I'd recommend that.

We used Y&S Marble in West Drayton. Very competitive price and excellent service. They also have a good selection of 'stock' in their yard where you can view the actual piece you would get if you so desire. Would have no hesitation in recommending them. It worked out just over £300/linear meter fitted including cutouts edges, upstands etc. I'm pretty sure the quartz we went for was called "Olympia". Picture here: flic.kr/p/2175VgC

We’ve got Unistone Carrara Misterio going in next week. It’s beautiful, especially compared to the mirror chip options which imho look very dated now.

jigster01 · 06/06/2018 20:19

We have unistone Bianca Carrera..very faint marble effect ( that is the square in picture) the worktop itself is silestone..I think lagoon as I did originally want that one but it was too veiney for me...unistone is fantastic you don't hear too much about it but would recommend though not cheap

No comment on quartz but I've got blue granite and had it nearly 10
Years,
It's hardly got any chips and still looks good as new

I have silestone calacatta gold!
I got it last month and love it. It's a lot less grey than the other marble effect ones

This is a close up of mine. It is Lunastone Bianco Carrara and I really like it. It doesn't have the long sways of pattern that marble has but its a good compromise.

The most marble-like quartz is this by Compac Our stonemason who deals in most brands of quartz said it was the best likeness to marble he'd ever seen.

I can't remember the price per metre but I seem to recall there was quite a difference (which is why I couldn't afford it!). Off the top of my head, the Lunastone was £2.5k for what we had and the Compac was almost £4k.

Not quartz, but we are installing Neolith Calacatta which is sintered stone. I expected the quotes to come in too high but they have been comparable to what we were quoted for Silestone Lyra. It looks very much like marble. The table is Calacatta and the sample on top is their Calacatta Gold.

Those samples are gorgeous Shock

I have a Lunastone worktop too. It was significantly cheaper than Silestone.

MummyNessi · 07/06/2018 15:41

Wow! Great looking pictures.
I had a look on Mayfair Granite that have an online price calculator and the silstone Calcutta is one of the most expensive ones. But they only have white not gold nut sure how they differ. But there quote is way better than my first quote... and they have10% off right now.
Anyone used them?

I also quite like the white granite... as a cheaper alternative.
Although some are a little too busy and I guess not as tough...

I used GMQ marble who were by far the cheapest.
