Paint colours for north facing lounge

Hi, I'd appreciate some advice please!
We need to repaint our living room, which is north facing. We'll be keeping our existing sofas, which are a deep pink colour and the carpet, which is a silvery grey neutral.
Does anyone have any advice on what colours would work? Advice seems to be to stay neutral with whites or creams (which we currently have and feels drab) or choose a dark colour to create a cosy space (which feels daunting!).
In terms of natural light, we have french doors to the south of our room which link to our kitchen which does draw in natural light. There is also a generous sized window on the north wall of the room.
Thanks in advance!

No advice but watching with interest, as we have the same issue. Currently have a neutral, light cream colour (can't remember the actual colour name) and want to change and warm it up, but without making it dark.

I think I'd be tempted by a sage green, should look nice with pink and silver and is a soothing colour. Probably not too dark.

Dulux APPLE WHITE or WILLOW TREE?

Grey paint absorbs grey light. It really works wonders on north facing rooms.

You can then use mirrors with lamps to create and reflect some golden light.

Don't be afraid of dark colours!!!!!

I would go for a dark grey

I have a light grey in my north facing front lounge. It looks warm & really picks up any light that comes in. I changed it from white, which just looked drab.

Deep strong jewel colours. White/beige/pale grey will just look dirty. I have deep electric blue in a north facing room (was white) and it looks great. You can't create light with paint if there isn't enough natural light, so go the other way.
With deep pink sofas I would go plum, aubergine or dark grey.

I have dulux warm pewter in mine! Looks great! I was a bit dubious but so pleased with the final result!

Dulux Sundrenched Saffron 5!! (if they still make it).

Would recommend this to ANYBODY with a north-facing living room. A lovely goldeny neutral that looks as though the sun's out even in midwinter.

On the other hand it might not go with your sofa or carpet. Hard to know without seeing them. But definitely worth getting a taster pot.
