What type of edging to go along the top edge of wall tiles? With pic.

Hi, we are having flat white metro tiles with light grey grout in a brick pattern. Oak effect worktops and painted cupboards mean the look will be (hopefully) fairly classic traditional rather than sleek modern. What edging to go horizontally along the top of the tiles? Tiler is suggesting brushed chrome or something but is this too modern? Thoughts please....

Chrome will look dated and dare I say, a bit tacky. Your edging should be white, like your tiles.

You can get thin tile edging which looks the best. (Nb I have a dislike for plastic/chrome trims).

Thank you both..so should the edging be white even though the grout is light grey?

We have brushed chrome with ivory metro tiles. I like it, it certainly doesn’t look tacky.

Sorry Eminy! Just personal preference.

OP...yes it should be white in my opinion because the largest area of colour is white...the grout is a small area and silver or chrome doesn't match grey grout either!

Or simply don't have any. I painted the visible unglazed bit of my tiles the same colour as the wall and it looks great.

Thanks everyone-all really useful. Going to go with white, makes the most sense to me.
