Kitchen Recommendations - North East

We are looking at new kitchens. Big (ish) space 20ft by 12 ft. Having an eating area. Can anyone recommend any companies in the north-east ?

We have looked at the normal range - Howdens, Wren, B and Q, Wickes.
I want a shaker, painted kitchen.

Doesn't need to be very cheap but not top range. Love Neptune but can't pay that.

Anyone used Laura Ashley? Or John Lewis (the dept store)?

I have heard awful things about Wren but prefer their range of colours.

I am looking at Jewson, not sure if they are in the NE.
They do have painted kitchens.

Haven't used them (nor am I sure of pricing!) but these guys seem to get good online reviews...

DIY-kitchens have a showroom in Pontefract. Any colour you want, incredible value, lots of fans on Mumsnet. Worth a trip.

Thanks . I will definitely be going to Newcastle k and B this week and will look at Jewsons. DIY kitchens looks good but Pontefract is a lng way from Northumberland. I looked on their website but DH and I were not at all confident we could order it and I thought they didn't paint them?

I really like on on Laura Ashley but it seems an odd way to buy a kitchen through a high street clothes and homewear shop.

Ah, I happily drove up from London to Yorkshire in search of my perfect kitchen 😀. Was well worth it given how much we saved and how happy we are with the end result.

Confused at your comment re paint as their bespoke ranges are available to order in any F&B colour for a little more than the standard ranges. We found ordering online straightforward, as long as you do your prep and measurements, but their customer support is good, and a showroom visit enables you to iron out any queries as well as satisfy yourself re quality and style. Good luck in your search.

I might be on a drive to Pontefract then. Grin

I noticed that DIY kitchens do a meet and greet service from the local train stations which might be useful?

We've used hs interiors for bathrooms and parents used them for kitchen and were very happy
