Adding tiles to hallway - do I need underfloor heating too?

Hallway currently has a wooden floor, same as the rest of downstairs. Between the front door and stairs, I'd like to replace this with some pretty cement/encaustic tiles as I'm trying to bring a bit of character back to the very bland house.

But. Will this be freezing on the toes if I don't put underfloor heating beneath? We will be walking on them a lot as a living room is off this area of the hall.

Any experience of electric underfloor heating in a hallway - is it enough so I'd be able to take out the radiator?

Is it reliable? If it breaks it seems like it will be a massive hassle to lift the tiles.

Also a bit concerned whether the heating plus tiles would end up higher than the wooden floor next to it.

Thanks!

I am thinking of doing the same thing in my hallway, but will have a carpet runner over the tiles to walk.
