What does the freeholder need to do when we sell our leasehold flat

So we are hopefully selling our leasehold flat which is in a maisonette. Our freeholder lives locally but is not very engaged with doing things (i.e. it took us a year to extend the lease, a year to get a license to alter for the loft) so we are a little worried she may delay things again. What exactly does the freeholder need to do? Does she have to sign documents? Does this involve her going in to the solicitor's office?

Well we are in a purpous built block of flats and all ours seems to need to do is charge us 240 quid to post paperwork to the solicitor. Daylight robbery!

They have to complete a form about the lease; I can't remember the exact details but it contained details about whether there was a service charge and what ground rent was etc (we had share of freehold so completed it ourselves and got the joint freeholder to sign - they didn't need to visit the solicitor, it was all done by email and post).

You can see a sample of the form online here: www.lawsociety.org.uk/support-services/advice/articles/law-society-launches-new-lpe1-form-for-leasehold-property/

There is some other info here: www.samconveyancing.co.uk/news/conveyancing/leasehold-information-pack-3094

Your freeholder is allowed to charge for completing this.
