Green powder around radiator pipe...

Tomorrow we are having carpets fitted so I moved the sofa out of the way to have a clean behind it and it backs onto a radiator. At the bottom of the radiator there was some green dust (?!) or crumbs on the floor and around the pipe. I cleaned this off with a sponge and dried it and there doesn’t seem to be any leaking. Do I need to get it looked at? I always assumed something like that would mean a leak! Confused

Meant to add, it wasn’t much. Maybe a 10p piece size on the floor and a 1cm ring around the pipe itself.

Its verdigris

It's a substance formed by the oxidation of copper pipes

Ok thank you. So it’s okay then and I don’t need to get it fixed? Worried it’s suddenly going to spring a leak on me!

Just hoover it up.

Thanks, that’s what I’ve done. Just really don’t fancy a leak when I’ve got new carpet coming tomorrow....! Glad no one seems bothered. Grin That’s reassuring.
