What is reasonable to ask me to do as a seller?

Buyer seems to want me to gut the house, as in remove built in shelving, desks, wardrobes, etc. I have had demands from said buyer before and have put my foot down at some, but need to know what is and isn't reasonable. It seems to me that they want me to do all their preparation work for their new house, with no cost to them! Hmm

Not reasonable to me, they can do that or tell them you will do it for a fixed price.

Nope, not reasonable

TeacupDrama · 29/05/2018 09:42

Just don't: reasonable is to leave house clean and tidy, leave stuff like lightbulbs don't leave stuff in garage or attic keep cutting grass until moving day no one cellwants a free hay field. Don't remove cupboards t they could pull out and missing fitted stuff could put another buyer off

just no. sold as seen! expect further mucking about, I fear.

Thank you. I have told the agent that one more bit of idiocy and it goes back on the market! It sold in two weeks before so not worried.

If you were to rip out all those fittings and then they changed their mind before exchange then you would be in a right pickle.

Why don't they wait until they have completed on the house, and it's empty then they can strip out stuff to their heart's content.

The house we’re buying is full of fitted wardrobes/desk/shelves etc.
I don’t want them, but I wouldn’t dream of asking our vendor to remove them. I’ve factored this into our offer so we have a bit of spare cash to fix walls and decorate!
