Anyone resolved the smelly paint (weeks after application) issue?

I posted a while back about my snekky kitchen cupboard several weeks after painting it. I didn't use Valspar paint which I am told/google suggests has been heavily reported for producing a similar gas/cat pee type smell but do believe it to be the paint.

After having the gas board out for a smell that's somewhere between rotting flesh/gas/cat per I posted on here and googled and came to the conclusion it was most likely to be the paint. Although the smell knocked you out a nose test against the wall seemed conclusive. There is nothing else in the cupboard it can be! It's the cupboard under the stairs in a 1970s house.

As a result I followed online tips and bleached every inch of the cupboard floor and walls. 24 hours later when I was convinced it wa dry I applied a coat of zinsser bin primer. To the floor and walls and skirting/door frame. A week later I painted with different paint.

Since then the kitchen floor has been replaced with laminate which has gone over the primed old tiles.

So here we are 4 or so weeks later. Again in warm weather the same smell is back. The cupboard is actually part of a kitchen refurbishment and due to have some expensive fancy shelving built into it in a few weeks.

I am beyond cheesed off. I only have a bit of primer left so if more primer is the solution that's another £20 a tin!! I will happily pay it if it will work. I'm considering painting the primed and not using an emulsion over it.

But before I start yet painting this bloody cupboard yet again can anyone share their smelly paint issues with me and explain how they resolved the issue.

Apologies for typos. My phone is a bit glitchy today.

Basically has anyone resolved a similar issue and if so HOW?

Are you certain it is the paint? The only reason I ask is I once called out gas emergency to a gas leak I could smell in the kitchen. They thought it was gas too, but their sniffer thing didn't detect gas. It turned out to be a decomposing mouse. It was obviously removed, but I have had problems with mice dying in inaccessible places and the smell lasts for weeks.

Which zinsser bin primer did you use? I used this one in a kitchen alcove which smelt like cheesy feet after being painted with old leftover paint. I used two coats, at first I thought it hadn't worked but after 4 weeks or so the smell started to disappear and has finally gone 6 weeks later.

We had an absolutely feral smelling wall after painting with Dulux but the zinsser stuff did the job for us and we've had no issues since so only thing I can suggest is another coat.

It wore off over time for us, but took 5 months!
