Help! Is there any such thing as a 100 x 200 crackle glazed tile?

I've messed up. Tiler coming on Friday has made a flashback for tiling. I have beautiful tiles. But he told me 100x 200 mm. He can't cut the ones I have, it will look stupid.

I have searched and searched... Thanks.

Can you explain what you mean by 'has made a flashback' - I just don't understand. If it's his mistake then shouldn't he put it right?

Do you mean splash back?

FrogFairy · 22/05/2018 18:10

There are some on Tonsoftiles but only two colours. Looks like grey or pale cream.

Topps Tiles more expensive but more colour choice. Also likely to be local if you need to collect.

Tiler probably has trade account at Topps and gets a discount. Are the tiles you bought bigger? Why won't they work? Please explain so we can suggest a solution that doesn't cost you a lot of money and bother.

It's because he has designed the splash back around the tiles. So 4 10 cm tiles high. The smaller ones would end up with a thin line of tiles at the top of the splash back.

Those Tons of Tiles are discontinued sadly. Thanks all for help.

These any good? What colour were you looking for?

Okay - now I understand. Generally, I find tilers are not keen on cutting tiles. Could the cut edges go at the bottom instead? There'll be sealant there which will cover the edges and it'll look as though they go behind the worktop.

Or, could you add a band of small tile, either a dado style tile strip or a rectangular mosaic type tile, possibly in a contrasting colour, to fill the gap instead?

There are some lovely iridescent tile strips and marble ones which could look great with the crackle effect.

Thanks!

For anyone reading this in the future the topps ones are the only ones it seems!
