Duel Fuel heated towel rail

I found a heated towel rail I really like it mentions in the description that it can be used with a heating element so I take it its one of those Duel Fuel ones, I'm not interested in using the electric element just want it plumbed into the central heating.

With a duel fuel radiator can you just have it on one function so for us just running on the central heating or do you have to have the electrical part added aswell?

No idea but I'd have both so that you can have it on in the summer to dry your towels and stop them getting musty

Our bathroom radiators come on even when the heating is off, I'm not sure how but we thought it was a fault when we first moved in but when a plumber came round to look at the boiler he said its something that can be on but a lot of people don't tend to use it, he explained it a bit more technically than that but I did not really get it, I was just happy it was not something wrong!

So this is why we are not interested in having the electrical part of the radiator we like but its quite a lot of money and don't want it if it has to have an electrician to put the electrical part in when installing it when we don't want it.

Check the technical spec. You might be able to remove the element and just cap off the hole. A lot come with both options.

I have a dual fuel heating towel rail too, no problems, it's handy in the summer time

They are usually sold just as the radiator then you have to buy the electric heating element separately because there are other component parts to the heating element bit. You can't just plug it in.

I have 2 of them, but do use the dual heat function because I want to dry the towels after morning showers in the summer whilst the heating is off. I have fused spurs/timers etc as part of my system.

If you are after recommendations, Geyser were a fantastic company to deal with and their website was very straightforward.

You choose the towel rail, then choose the accessories such as valves, decorative caps, they show photos of everything so you know what you are buying and it fits to that radiator.

if you have a hot water cylinder nearby you can plumb a towel rail to come on when the cylinder is being heated. This is typically during and after running a bath, which is perhaps the best possible time.

Towel rails don't give out as much heat as radiators, especially when they are lagged with a thick insulating layer of towels, so have both.
