Bespoke kitchen companies (eg Sola, Roundhouse) - recommendations/to avoid?

We are planning a kitchen extension and new kitchen. Probably looking for a company that can do bespoke and probably some sort of Shaker ish style (in frame painted anyway).

If you've had a bespoke or fairly high end shaker kitchen in the past few years, please tell me who you used and would you recommend them?

We are using a company called NK Living to fit our kitchen. They have done a few of the ones on the Naked Kitchens website. We went to see two they fitted. They are based in East Surrey but will travel to South London/Sussex. We will go to Norfolk at some point but it isn't necessary. Also look at 80/20 kitchens as a similar option.

Hmm bit nervous about sourcing everything separately, I don't think I have the organisational or negotiation skills for that!

Changing thanks for the tip, I will speak to them and Naked and see if I can go see some kitchens by them in London.

Size of kitchen is fairly large, L shape of 5m by 2m and also a 2.5m island. Nothing awkward shape wise but I do want some bespoke bits like a corner pantry and some unusual design wall cabinets

I suppose I could use a non bespoke company for most of the kitchen and then get a joiner to make the pantry and wall cabinets

If you're on a budget, consider Pineland. You'll need an independent fitter, but the design guys at Pineland are very helpful

Minipie. My bespoke kitchen was £36k all in. It’s a large kitchen with central island and included the stone and all appliances (falcon range and fridge freezer, Bosch tumble dryer, washing machine and dishwasher, microwave, extractor). It was so much cheaper than some of the quotes I got from Surrey places. I can PM you a few photos. I got about 4-5 quotes (one co wanted £30k for cabinets alone). Also, just remember it included a quooker boiling tap, falke sink tap, Belfast sink etc. We also had a chefs larder, Welsh dresser included as well as usual cabinets, pan drawers etc. I have added a couple of pics taken just after it was fitted. It was spray painted in a F&B colour matched durable paint and then hand painted on site (took a week). I have only shown a small part of it in pics but we seemed to have got a lot of bang for our buck..

Just remembered it also included the wine fridge in island.

Jolly impressive Cosmos! As it happens I'm in Wiltshire this weekend (for FIL's bday but surely I can fit in kitchen shopping...) will look them up.

@minipie - my friend had just had a kitchen installed/planned by Lewis Alderson. Think she said they were in Hartley Wintney, Hampshire. Looked GORGEOUS and said it was hand painted in her home. Major kitchen envy! Good luck on your search.

It can be done depending on the room size.
This one the 'L' is 6.5mtr x 4.2mtr with a 3mtr x 2mtr island and was 32k not inc fitting that was 2k i think, nor the extractor as that was bespoke from westin (1450 wide etc)
painted matched to paint & paper libery stone 1
shaker inframe with butt hinges and slab inframe drawers with oak drawer boxes.
All doors were hand made as customer wanted 1mm rounded edges rather than the standard 2mm or would have been 5k ish less.
Has, 2 miele ovens, 1 steam, 1 micro, 2 warming drawers, 2 gas hobs around 12k so it all depends where you spend your money.
Most people would like a kitchen at 12k (like myself) let alone spending 12 on appliances

Getmesomesleep - your kitchen is beautiful and we are about to order from David at Stuartfrazer 😀, can I ask about your worktops - quartz? Can you see the join? We are looking at Corian

Having looked at several companies (including Tom Howley ) we went with a local man Tim Cook, he was great and we now have an amazing kitchen ! www.timcook.co.uk. or www.facebook.com/TimCookKitchens/

MeanwhileTime · 08/02/2019 10:47

Hi jgbucks do you mind me asking roughly what you paid for your Tim Cook kitchen? Have just had a look at his website and the kitchens look absolutely beautiful, but if the prices are comparable to Tom Howley then that will be out of our budget! Sad
