Good jet/jacuzzi bath recommendations

Hello!

We are renovating out bathroom soon and I'd like a spa style bath with the jets etc. It's mainly for my son who has cerebral palsy so the therapeutic nature of the bath would really help him. But also I quite fancy one!

Has anyone got any brand/supplier recommendations? Don't want it too big, 1800 is too long and 700 rather wide.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I cant recommend one but my parents have one and all I can say its very very noisy. My mother bought it because she wanted to as a relaxing luxury but never uses it because of the noise. So maybe thats something to look out for.

Oh thanks dany that's useful, I hadn't even considered that might be an issue with them. Thank you!

We had one come with a previous house. It was noisy, the motor was right under the sloped bit where you lie back to relax ifkwim. Newer/more expensive ones may be better...? It was also a nightmare to keep clean, the jets would collect loads of black gunk. We never used it and took it out eventually.

My experience was exactly the same as oldenglish’s. And as she says, if you don’t use it, black mould quickly builds up in th pipes which is very offputting. We too removed ours after a couple of years.

Our house came with one. Loads of black Mould shot out the first and only time we tried it. Also 700 is standard width isn’t it? You can get bubble spa type machines you can just add to any bath. Would this be an option?

We got one recently for my Mum who has trouble now getting in and out of a regular bath. It's an American Standard, and yes the jets are very noisy! In hindsight it's nice but a walk-in bath without the jets would have been just as good for her (that's called a soaking bath rather than a whirlpool bath).

Be aware there is a difference between "air jet" (makes bubbles but that's about it) and "water jet" types. You need the latter if you actually want a massage effect rather than just bubbly water.
