And also around Dulux price range please!

I've got a sample of polished pebble but it's too blue. It's the right darkness though so similar but browny based.

I've tried the dulux app thing but it's hurting my soul Angry

It's pretty dark here at the minute (persisting down!) if it's better daylight tomorrow I'll try and get another picture - it's not that dark really Confused

@BobbinThreadbare123 @keepingbees it looks far more grey in my kitchen than the grey (duck egg blue) I had in my bathroom.

However I should say my sister repeatedly tells me I'm colour blind! 😂😂😂

Either way I much prefer its subtle tones to the rotten natural calico I've just painted my full house in!

EmmaC78 · 01/05/2018 20:52

I have used Egyptian Cotton and it is definitely very grey on my walls!

Crown Cloud Burst is a lovely grey OP.

ayedidye · 01/05/2018 20:52

That was it in the spare room wall but doesn't look at all like that in the kitchen.
That was the 'once' version but bought 'kitchen' version for kitchen and it looks like a different colour all together.

It's no where near as dark

Phew @EmmaC78 I'm not going insane!

EmmaC78 · 01/05/2018 21:04

Phew @EmmaC78 I'm not going insane!

No definitely not, when I had finished painting I asked a friend to come round to check as I thought I was going made and she agreed it was very grey too. Annoying as I was looking for a beige colour.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 01/05/2018 21:12

I think I'm just going to paint everything white in future. I hate magnolia anyway. DH is colourblind so he doesn't care anyway.

ayedidye · 01/05/2018 21:27

Aw that's a shame @EmmaC78, it was the other way round for me.
I wanted a really subtle greyish tone but still light and neutral. When I saw it on my wall it was too dark for the whole house so decided just to do the kitchen.
Stupidly the kitchen was the last room to be painted and when I saw it up I was kicking myself as it's exactly what I wanted.

@BobbinThreadbare123 natural calico is ok, light and neutral.

Our polished pebble looks blue too!

We have chic shadow on our kitchen cabinets and they look grey but at some points in the day they look duck egg blue!

We have Egyptian cotton in our hallway and it looks a mucky cream- yuk I hate it!

tigerbasil · 01/05/2018 21:43

Pavillion grey by farrow and ball color matched in Dulux or similar

skippy67 · 01/05/2018 21:47

We have Just Walnut in a couple of rooms. Definitely no blue in it.

SouthernComforts · 01/05/2018 22:03

I'm leaning towards just walnut again. Although it's not the grey I had in mind.. because it might not actually exist..

We have chic shadow in our bathroom. It's a lovely grey.

nothingelsetodo · 01/05/2018 22:05

Dulux white mist is nice

LoftyLou · 01/05/2018 22:05

Dusted Moss 2 here.

Definitely not taupe, definitely no blue either.

The colour changes through the day, it almost has a very, very slight purply-pink tone to it at the moment (night time) but that might be my imagination or the light bulbs.

Sometimes it can look slightly warm (tiny hint of beigyness) but even then you definitely would still call it grey rather than greige.

We’ve been very happy with it. It is light enough to be very neutral, but dark enough that it’s a definite colour and not an ‘off-white’.

KimKurl · 01/05/2018 22:25

We are painting our walls grey at the moment. Dulux and it's called chic shadow. We have a light blue couch so definitely needed one that was not blue!

pumpingRSI · 01/05/2018 22:35

Whole of upstairs Polished Pebble. Grey ... with a tinge of blue. Learnt our lesson- Pebble Shore for downstairs. Just right, warm grey, not as beige as Egyptian Cotton or publish as Walnut or dark as Chic.

Expensive mistake. Delux loser.

pumpingRSI · 01/05/2018 22:36

Pinkish as Walnut that should be. Spelling loser.

peoplearemean · 01/05/2018 22:38

Another vote for Wilko Cosy Grey. Although the decorator hated it as no vinyl in apparently. Looks bloody great tho.

RNBrie · 01/05/2018 22:41

If grey steel 3 is too dark try grey steel 4. We have it and it's lovely.

TheBlueDot · 01/05/2018 22:42

I have polished pebble in a north facing room and it’s grey, not blue.

Dulux did French greys in varying strengths about 5 years ago, have one of those shades in a brighter room and it is actually grey too.

Shiftymake · 01/05/2018 22:54

Grey Green but a bit dear in price and Dulux Goose Down Matt

SouthernComforts · 01/05/2018 23:04

Thanks everyone for your input. I knew you wouldn't say 'grey is just grey like rain' like my dd did Hmm

Slight confession.. I just assumed my room was North facing because it's dark and gloomy. A compass pointed towards the bedroom window says west. So west is miserable too. You live and learn.

Dulux Engraved Locket. It used to be available off the shelf as part of their Timeless Classics range but they’ve discontinued that now and you have to get it mixed. It is the perfect true grey.

keepingbees · 02/05/2018 12:11

West facing is gloomy in the morning but should get the sun in the afternoon/evening.
