Hoping someone can advise me on this. Basically I want to move my washing machine from my kitchen to my lean to. This means taking the plumbing behind one cupboard in the kitchen and then through a brick (previously external) wall. I asked a friend who said I would need a structural engineer (!) to make an opening in the wall. I thought the plumber would be able to do this, or even that I could do it myself with my hammer drill!! In my mind it’s less work than installing a cat flap in a wall and people do that all the time. Is this a much bigger job than I think? Do I need more than one tradesman? I want to know what I’m on about before I start asking for quotes.
