Are there any laws regarding lobbing garden debris over a garden fence when you can’t see the other side (and who you are potentially hitting)

As you can probably guess we are not on speaking terms with our crazy neighbour to the rear of the property. In fact so much so the police were called on her last year as she started dismantling our fence (there was a thread about it on here).

Anyhoo I’ve just been out in the garden with the kids and over the fence comes large sticks. Made me jump. The fence that we replaced had panels that could be lifted up, so she used to lift these panels up and put branches that overhung her garden or sticks that came from our trees into our garden. Fair enough, was fairly anti social but I know you are allowed. Obviously now there is a large fence between us she taking to lobbing them over instead. Is that okay do you think? Is it a case of if she actually hits one of my kids then I go from there or do you think I have the right to think it’s unacceptable?

Just so I don’t drip feed the original falling out was over trees at the end of the garden that she wanted felled/lopped. Those trees have now been felled and lopped but in the high winds she is obviously still getting sticks and relayed debris falling into her garden and she’s not happy.

They are supposed to offer cuttings back (which you dont have to accept) not lob them over the fence as that counts as fly tipping.

Have you carefully trimmed back all the branches etc. that were overhanging her garden, collecting and disposing of the mess? I would think it pretty rare to have branches / debris come down when the trees are maintained properly. Yes, it does happen occasionally, in a storm / high wind, but its pretty rare.

It’s been very windy here so I assume there’s been some sticks that have fallen from the poplar as it’s a softwood tree. It’s been professionally lopped and another tree was taken down all together. It’s what she demanded and we paid for it to be done.

She is a total loose cannon and hurling stuff over someone’s fence when they’ve got preschoolers seems fucking dangerous to me.
