Insinkerator boiling water tap

If you have one, are you happy with it?

Basically DH is refusing to buy a Quooker because of the £££. He would however buy an Insinkerator boiling water tap (probably the 3N1). However, I am unsure if it's hot enough. We don't drink tea, I drink coffee and will use it for filling pans/making stock. If you have this tap - are you happy with it and would you recommend it?

I have it and I love it. My mum says it’s not hot enough for tea - it’s fine for me. I use it for hot drinks and filling pans daily. It’s perfect got emergency pasta for DD!

I have one, the white tap 3in1 cost about £350 and included the boiler and filter. I love it. It’s hot enough for instant coffee, never tried real coffee with it. It’s hot enough to make tea in a mug but not in the teapot. It’s great for veg and pasta.

So if we have visitors that have tea, it's always made in a mug. I don't know how discriminating they are about their tea though.

I bought the insinkerator boiling water tap too because it was cheap (£269 from here: www.viewclickbuy.co.uk/index.php/unbranded-insinkerator-gn1100c-instant-hot-water-tap-and-boiler.html)

It's the 'old' model boiler, but the difference is mainly cosmetic.

It's absolutely brilliant IMHO - absolutely perfect for cups of tea.

Vs. the more expensive quooker, the insinkerator is 'noisier'. You can occasionally hear the water 'kettling' which I'm told by Insinkerator is entirely normal. My quooker owning friend tells me theirs is silent.

The other plus point for the insinkerator is that the filters are much cheaper.. £40 for 2 which will last a year (combined) delivered direct from Insinkerator. (They include a 20% off voucher with the boiler which doesn't appear to expire)

we have sold them in past but wouldnt now. too many issues especially with needing replacement boiling tanks. now only sell Quooker with no problems

Hmmm. See our kitchen designer now refuses to use Franke boiling water taps because they keep breaking. He hasn't had any issues with insinkerator ones.

We have had one for 7 years and we love it, hot enough for tea and coffee never had a problem with it, we have it on a timer so it switches off at night

mrsmonkey14 · 05/04/2018 15:22

We had one for 4+ years in our old home and it was absolutely great. Used for hot drinks, cooking, boiling water to warm baby bottles etc. Am looking at boiling taps again for our new home and was planning to go for insinkerator again due to cost.

PoisonousSmurf · 05/04/2018 15:31

I really don't see the point of these 'taps'. We live in a high limescale area and have to descale the kettle every week!

FizzingWhizzbee · 05/04/2018 15:32

We splashed out on a Quooker for our new kitchen last week (got a good discount at the Ideal Home Show - but it still cost an arm and a leg). It is now going to sit in our garage until Autumn when we actually get our kitchen redoneSmile. I'm still ridiculously excited about it.

Fizzing - Damn! I had intended to go to the Ideal home show. How much did you get it for?
