White woodwork: which white?

We are decorating our small tv room that leads off the small hall. The house is Edwardian and the decor/ style is quite traditional. The flooring is part oak and part beige carpet , the curtains are a neutral cream the sofas are dark golds and there is a grey marble fireplace.
I have f&b new white for the walls and ceiling . Previously the woodwork was eggshell trade white . It looks very bright and wrong tiny eye now but I cannot decide on what to go for. There is quite a lot of woodwork , bookshelves, skirtings etc. Last time it was decorated we had 2 young dogs , 2 clumsy teenagers and a small ball -loving child but 11 years on the necessity for easy touch ups has passed.
Which white would you recommend?

Gloss or if you can't stand gloss, satin.
Gloss is IME, easier to clean, and eggshell isn't as tough. I'm no expert.
My woodwork is satin.
Do F&B make satinwood in new white?

Yes I think they do something... do you think walls+ ceiling+ woodwork all the same colour then?

due to the way the light falls on it, the ceiling will look different from the walls even if you use the same paint.

It's OK to have whiter ceilings than walls. White walls look institutional.

Yes I see that but was wondering about woodwork the same... I'm out of touch...is that current looking?
