So we bought this house 18 months ago the kitchen / diner includes an extension into a very large conservatory, it’s all open plan, large floor space. The floor is stone / porcelain/ ceramic tiles (I can’t work out exactly which!) most of which are chipped or cracked, and along the line where the original kitchen joins the conservatory there is a crack all along. Any ideas why this has happened? And what could we do with the floor? I’m guessing it would be a huge job to get all those tiles up Sad

The second picture looks like something has been dropped on it. The third looks like maybe where there is two different sub floors , is it where the extension meets the existing house ?

I'm far from an expert, but maybe those tiles have been put on wood which moves and therefore as it flexes the tiles tend to crack. (It's a problem in older houses, particularly in upstairs bathrooms as you have to lay a layer of board before youth tiles which can change level of the floor hence why Lino or whatever it's called now is/ was popular.

Yes it’s where the extension meets existing house - done by previous owners. I’m guessing there’s been some movement.
