Returning/exchanging B&Q kitchen after 45 day return policy

Hi there,

We are currently doing a full house renovation and last year about October time I got ahead of myself and ordered our kitchen from B&Q's Cooke and Lewis range. It arrived and was stored ready for fitting. We were then completely let down by our tradesmen and as a result everything has dragged its heels to the point we are only now just about ready to think about getting the kitchen fitted.

However again due to our builders a couple of measurements have now changed due to the new partition wall they built deeper than the plans and we have also decided we have the space to increase our island size by a wee bit more than what we had planned.

What this means is that I now have units that I would ideally like to return in exchange for different sized ones but we are well out of their 45 day returns policy.

The kitchen designer at our local branch says it shouldn't be a problem and that we should just return what we don't need and we can order the new items as long as they haven't been opened and are still in original packabging( not an issue as its all sitting piled up in its cardboard boxes) But I don't want to lug it all into the store to be told that they won't take it back as I'm too late.

Does anyone have any experience with B&Q with similar issues to us??

I'm now seriously annoyed with myself that I jumped the gun and ordered too quickly, but we've been in since May last year and had no proper kitchen since then so I was super excited to get it ordered, lesson learned Confused

I can sympsthise. Our fitters are very late starting our project and ive now got unopened checked appliances and a wjole kitchen im worried might be damaged or faulty. Its hard to open and check as we are living in a nuilding dite eith do mucj dust etc. Im scared items will get damaged if packahing not left sealed.
A couple of months ago I cancelled my whole kitchen from them before arrival. I was well within my 45 days but it has been an absolute nightmare getting refunded. They refunded me in dribs and drabs and it took over a month for the refund to go through despite their 7 day claim! Tbh, that month was helped along by a complaint I put through the CEOs office. I suspect I would still be waiting without their help.
The whole nightmare has put me off using them again and we have now ordered elsewhere.
I would take the name and phone number of the person who told you that you could return stuff to the store with you. Actually, ask them to put it in an e-mail and show the store.
From my bitter experience of he said she said with them I wouldn't believe anything said verbally.
I hope you have more success and a smoother road with them than we did. Ive been lect utterly deflated by the whole crap experience.
