My dad is having his 1930s house renovated and wants to get rid of the glass panes above the internal doors of the bedrooms as they let in too much light at nighttime from the hallway landing. Do you think these original windows are worth keeping as they are period features? Or are people not that bothered about them? Thanks

Our house has these glazed windows above the doors. They are in three of the bedroom doors, the hall to breakfast room door and the breakfast room to kitchen door. They are all original (and non opening). One side of the clear glass is bobbly, the other smooth. The house dates to 1925.
When the children were small and the landing light bothered them we just put some well fitted cardboard up. Black side facing inwards as it then looks like a dark room, IYSWIM at night.

Please keep them, too many houses 'modernised' and the original style lost.

Thank you! They look cool - can't believe I've never seen them in real life in an older property :)
