Shower recommendations - If you have recently bought a shower or you wished you had gone for something different??

I'm after a shower - I literally have no idea what type I need and what the differences are. I have been told I have a good pump so water pressure is not an issue.

I do know I want some "umph" so a power shower is what I want. (I think)

Have you recently bought a shower and really pleased with it or have you regretted your decision?

Thanks in advance

I have always used Aqualisa showers..fantastic power and very reliable.

I am moving soon and will definitely install one in new house.

What sort of boiler have you got. I am not sure if it's still the case but I was told a number if years ago that you couldn't have a power shower with a combo boiler. Worth checking what you can have before deciding.

Just put in 2 new aquilisa showers - very good . We had a Mira shower before and that was also good . If you have a normal set up of water tank in loft and cylinder for hot water ( gravity fed system ) you can have a power shower with a pump. If you have a combi boiler or mains pressure water cylinder like a mega flow you can't fit a pump but hopefully the pressure will be fine anyway - ours is

Its not a combi boiler. I spoke with a plumber when I was 1st thinking of getting one a couple of years ago (I know - how time flies!!) and he told me the pump is ok. (But that is all I remember of the conversation!)

I had a combi boiler & my shower was fine - I thought that was because it was using mains water pressure.

We have a hot and cold water tank, now with pump, so we could have this shower (whole bathroom installed by Wickes).

I desperately wanted a rainfall shower, and it's fab. Both DD and I have long hair so the normal pressure shower meant ages in the shower. Our water usage has gone up though!

you won't get better than an Aqualisa mixer. As you already have a pump you don't need a power shower (incorporating its own pump) unless you want to get rid of the pump you have.

The round mixers are the one they built their reputation on, and are very dependable.

More complicated models are also available.

It's easier to service or replace a mixer if it is fixed to the surface of a wall rather than buried behind tiles and plaster. Same with the pipes, especially if you ever get a leak. You can get chromed pipes.
