Where to buy mid range bathroom suites online/in store.

I’ve never bought a toilet, basin or shower before and I’m creating a new bathroom from scratch.
I think I would like a wall hung toilet and sink.
I’ve seen lots of online stores like Victoria plumb and Victorian plumbing etc.
Any recommendations for sites that are good quality and have decent customer service or should I view everything in person by going somewhere like Bathstore.

Just bought a full suite including taps/shower fittings etc from www.soak.com. I was dubious about whether the quality would be decent but FIL is a plumber and says they're very good Smile

We paid about £800 for bath, bath panels, loo, sink, taps, shower head & shower fittings, glass shower screen.

That’s sounds very reasonable pepperpop.
Thanks

Whereabouts in the country are you? Might be able to point you in the direction of some showrooms that would be able to help.
Have a look at RAK ceramics, they have some nice wall hung pans and supply to retailers across the UK so are easily available.

I’m in south Cambridgeshire.

Bathstore might be having sales on at the moment, we managed to negotiate prices down even a bit more.

I bought our bathroom bits separately from different places.
Ibath on Amazon
PlumbWorld
Screwfix

ihatethecold · 10/03/2018 06:46

I did look on the Soak website. that had some lovely bathroom bits, Has anyone used Soak?

I will also take a look at Bathstore, I have one in my nearest town.

We got ours from city plumbing

I’d look for the makes first, Ideal Standard are a long standing (British) Company that have an excellent variety of quality bathroom items.
If you look them up on line you they will send you a brochure and tell which suppliers are in your area. Most plumbers merchants/ plumbers will be able to get their bathroom furniture.
We have always used them for all our bathroom refits in several houses, over the years.

Thanks, Thats useful to know. we are putting a wet room in. Not many showrooms seem to have them in store to look at

We had put in two Bathstore bathrooms over the last 11 years.
A few weeks ago our glass shower panel shattered - very scary!
When I looked at the Bathstore website it has a big Lifetime guarantee graphic, but the lifetime on most items is only 10 years - some even only 2 years.
I checked my receipts and realised they increased prices massively over the last years.
Our shower frame and sliding doors:
2007: £398
2012: £398
2018: £1000

I think Bathstore used to be the cheap option, but no more. Sounds like soak is the place to go now.

Bathstore toilet seats are expensive (£50) and rubbish. They stain. Also a pop up plug lasted as long as the warranty (2 years) So I would say avoid bathstore from my experience, although the ceramics and flush stuff has been fine.

Do you really want a wall hung toilet? The physics of them are all wrong.

pepperpop · 11/03/2018 10:37

My bath and waterfall bath tap from Soak are now in OP and I love them! Lovely deep bath, sturdy and lovely looking tap.

Our tiler is coming on Tuesday so the rest of it will be fitted once he's done. I'd recommend Soak from looking at the quality of all the rest of the fittings we've ordered that are waiting to go in too Smile

ihatethecold · 11/03/2018 14:36

I've changed my mind about a wall hung toilet.
I may go to bathstore for ideas and then order online from Soak etc.

A plumber, who I trust is coming next week to discuss which new boiler I should get and to quote so I think I will ask his opinion also..

He uses a plumbers merchants which I'm sure is cheaper

Try Sanctuary Bathrooms online. I bought everything from them and the service was first class including replacing without any hassle, a toilet seat which broke after a few months.

ihatethecold · 12/03/2018 15:35

Thanks, I haven't heard of them
