Is it really horrible?

I rather like it, but I've been staring at wallpaper samples on line for hours and I'm starting to question my own taste.
Our furniture is mixture of mcm and ikea, will this pattern work? Maybe not with that colour.

I've seen that its coming back in, so you'll be ahead of your time, then on trend, then dated. And if you're staying there for 40 years then I guess you'll go through the whole cycle again!

I've seen some cool examples where they've made it look like metal. I really like it, reminds me of my childhood home.

tararabumdeay · 28/02/2018 00:34

My old home anaglypta used to look like a person with wild eyes wearing a turban - repeated.

Didn't matter what colour it was always eyes and a face.

That's what we're ingrained to spot from the moment we're born.

FrogFairy · 28/02/2018 01:33

I like it.

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 28/02/2018 08:47

Yes to strong, dark colours. Definitely not teal.

veuveo · 28/02/2018 09:48

I like teal

Thank you toad
I'm loving the new anaglyptas
I'm just moving into a period house with wallpaper everywhere, this might be the answer

JesusTapdancingChrist · 28/02/2018 09:56

LOVE the first one 😍

Not keen on the second.

Agree that darker colours work best.

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 28/02/2018 10:17

I like that too, veuveo, that's not what I think of when I hear teal, though?

ShouldHaveListenedInBiology · 28/02/2018 10:22

Vueveo I was just coming to post that exact pin! I am having this in my living room, that looks like Hague Blue to me.

keepingbees · 28/02/2018 10:28

Not for me but with the right pattern and colour I guess it could work.
I would stay away from silk paint though as I think any kind of sheen would look really dated.

veuveo · 28/02/2018 10:35

Greyhound- I just googled teal anaglypta!
I have a couple of colours in my house that I would describe as teal, bit lighter than this maybe?

BeverlyHillsBillie · 28/02/2018 10:37

Is it making a comeback? It reminds me of my house growing up in the 70's. It can look great, especially in a Victorian or Edwardian house. Below a dado or on a feature wall though, not the entire room.

BeverlyHillsBillie · 28/02/2018 10:38

Great if you've got less than perfect walls as well.

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 28/02/2018 10:45

This is what I got when I googled Teal Grin

I prefer yours!

veuveo · 28/02/2018 10:47

Oh no, that wouldn't look good with anaglypta! that's turquoise isn't it?

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 28/02/2018 10:50

No, it's officially Teal. Google told me so!

BeverlyHillsBillie · 28/02/2018 10:54

That's not teal that's turquoise.

I think the name of the colour comes from the colour on the head of a teal (water fowl) which is a much darker, blue tinged green.

veuveo · 28/02/2018 11:03

Crayola!

I'm getting this under the dado rail in our hallway and up the stairs and landing. Planning to paint it dark blue or dark green. Victorian terrace. Think it will look amazing and it's also very practical. I've attached one of my Pinterest inspirations.
