Hello

I need to choose bathroom and shower floor tiles for two rooms asap and urgently! the house will be my home in ten years but will have tenants until then.

The architect had suggest some lovely tiles but they are encaustic and I've since read up on them and it seems they are not great for inside the shower.

Does anyone have them and is that true?

I had wanted on ground floor bathroom patterned tiles on floor and then inside shower and then white in rest of room. but can't find small victorian style patterned tiles anywhere (white and blue)

suggestions/ideas/ advice... please!

Don't you want to go with sth cheaper and sturdy while it's a rental? I'd probably do that and then do the place up to my liking when you're ready to move in. A lot can change in 10 years.

Thank you. this is a dumb question. = but is it easy to change tiles?

It's a job for a professional tiler but it isn't that diffult. However, there could substantial wear and tear after 10 years of renting out so personally, I'd put sturdy, neutral stuff in with the view to refresh when you move in.

I think that Jojo is right and that after 10 years of tenants your bathroom will need a refurb. Go for something simple that you won’t mind ripping out before you move back in.

Loathe tiles in bathrooms, so cold and slippery. There are so many new materials one could use, why tiles?

Yep, robust now, refit before you move in.

Here are some options:

www.toppstiles.co.uk/tprod46903/berkeley-slate-blue-tile.html

www.toppstiles.co.uk/tprod46365/henley-ice-tile.html

But I agree with the PP, you'll want to/need to change them in 10 years anyway so go for neutral and hard wearing now
