Laminate v LVT - please help me decide!

I have narrowed it down to 2 choices of flooring for our kitchen renovation.

Either quickstep impressive laminate, or Camaro vinyl.

I was pretty set on laminate, But have heard great things about LVT, especially in kitchens. I think I prefer the look of laminate, it obviously has more of a “real” wood look about it which I like. But the practical-ness of the LVT appeals to me.

There isn’t much in the cost, only about £100 all in, so having 2 quotes hasn’t really helped at all.

Please can you share your advice, especially if you have experience of the brands I’m looking at.

Thank you!

We used to have laminate in our kitchen but recently replaced it for tiles as it was coming apart and looking tatty where water had been spilt on it from the sink/dog bowl/leaking pipe and where it had been repeatedly steam-mopped to keep it clean. So from my experience, for a kitchen I’d go with vinyl or tiles.

We have LVT - Polyflor Expona Beveline. Polyflor is Karndean's parent company. LVT feels warm and soft underfoot and is easy to look after. It's also easy to replace tiles/planks should you need to - we manage to damaged one moving our F/F and the fitter came back and replaced it for us.

We found an independent specialist fitter who supplied the flooring at trade price. That saved a lot of money.

Vinyl is definitely warmer underfoot!

Though I really posted to snigger at the badly spelt as this thread triggered!

That would be adBlush

Thanks for the replies. Looks like LVT is winning.
What do you think of the look?

I like it - ours is a mid colour oak finish, complete with graining and texture.

I think the Camaro is made by polyflor too. I think you have helped me decide it. Now just need to decide between cashmere oak and quayside oak. Bloody hell why is this so hard (I chose everything else for the kitchen within minutes, I’ve been agonising over the floor for weeks Confused)

Our quickstep laminate was finished 2 weeks ago and we are delighted with it.
Only been two weeks though....

Not sure which one as there are loads very similar but it is grey wood effect.
