conservatory dilemmas

What should we do with our conservatory? We moved into this house about a year ago, it has a large living room (single storey extension), kitchen 3m x 3m, dining room 4m x 3m at front and conservatory at back, currently too cold in winter, fine to use March to September. We had the idea to upgrade conservatory then knock through to kitchen to make big bright kitchen diner. That would mean the dining room could be a study/spare room. Which would be really useful as I could then work from home and have my folks stay over sometimes. Upstairs there's one double, two single bedrooms. The problem is it would cost £15k for new conservatory glazing, new roof, more insulation and knock through. More than we want to spend as we only intend to be here for a few years. The house is already the most developed and expensive on the street, and I'm worried we wouldn't get the money back when we sell. The other option is to knock through kitchen to dining room and make do. But this would mean not having a spare bedroom downstairs. Also the conservatory is quite old and I'm worried it would put potential buyers off buying the house when the time comes. What would you do? Any advice from conservatory owners?

We are knocking ours down and building an extension because cost wise it wasn’t much more than revamping the conservatory. But as you aren’t going to be staying long it won’t be worth it. So if I was you I would do nothing! Just buy an oil filled radiator to give you a bit of heat. Make sure you read up on the building regs for conservatories as well. I don’t think you can just knock through without sorted out insulation etc
