Help with noisy neighbours

My mum’s house has been on the market since June 2016, she’s had buyers pulling out at the last minute, endless stupid offers and has been really low about the whole thing. She’s finally had a good offer from a lovely family and she’s due to exchange in the next couple of weeks.

As seems to be the norm now, she’s got another issue. The house next door has been rented out to a couple of young men who have started having loud parties until the early hours of the morning - revving cars outside her house at 4am, yelling and shouting and generally being absolute idiots. The man opposite has complained to the landlords as well as the chairman of the estate but my mum is panicking about having to declare this to her solicitor and it affecting her sale.

Has anyone gone through anything similar or have any advice? She’s hoping it can be fixed before the sale happens but is in such a panic about it!

The more neighbours who complain, the more likely the council will act and serve them a noise abatement notice. She'd have to declare the complaint, yes, but if the issue is solved, she could explain on the form that it is an historic issue.

@knobzombie7, it’s not going to be a historic issue though, is it? The sale looks set to go through within a month or so. Feel for the poor purchasers, unwittingly buying this problem. But also for the OP’s mum who has finally seen light at the end of the tunnel and now is faced with this moral dilemma.

But has your Mum complained?
Surely you don't have to declare complaints from others in the neighbourhood Confused

My mum spoke with her estate agent today who has told her to leave it to the neighbours to sort out. The landlord has also apparently said he will speak to them so hopefully the problem will be resolved soon enough. The family buying are so so lovely and she doesn’t want to leave the house with any issues, but at the same time really cannot risk her sale for it!
