What do you think of this Splashback?

Our new kitchen is going to be ivory cabinets, wooden worktops and floor, and I was planning ivory metro tiles.

Do you think this is nice? Would it go with the colour scheme? Would it looks odd next to the metro tiles?

Personally I don't like it! Blush but each to their own and all that!

Eminybob · 03/02/2018 20:00

Ps we are having an 90cm range and hood

I like the marble style splash backs! :)

flirtygirl · 03/02/2018 20:20

Its too bland.

aurorie11 · 03/02/2018 20:20

We had a glass splash back it’s lovely and you can pretty much get them in any colour

Heratnumber7 · 03/02/2018 20:21

I would prefer a contrasting colour personally. Or steel.

I want a Ted Baker one but they don't make it them the size I need!

Eminybob · 03/02/2018 20:33

I know, it sucks the max size is 60cm.
I might write to them!

The Ted Baker one is fab.

peachypips · 03/02/2018 20:36

I personally think it's too bedroomy.

Fannyfanakerpants · 03/02/2018 20:40

I think it's beautiful, as are the Ted baker ones.I wish it went with my kitchen.

Bluntness100 · 03/02/2018 20:42

I also think thr pattern looks bedroomy due to the pale colours

I'd go for a plain glass one, you can get some fab colours.

Eminybob · 03/02/2018 20:48

Hmm I’m not sure how I feel about committing to a colour.

We have mirror glass (with a 100mm stainless steel heatsink at the bottom) and it's fabulously easy to keep clean. Installed 20 years ago because we have a dark kitchen and I wanted to make the most of the light. Once I'd got over the shock of actually seeing myself in the mirror - an aspect that had never occurred to me! - I'm used to it, ignore my reflection, and love it. We will do this again when we do the refurb.

And you can be sure mirror glass will go with any colour scheme.

BellMcEnd · 03/02/2018 20:55

That Ted Baker one is fabulous!. I don’t think the Laura Ashley one is terrible but it’s a bit meh. We’ve got a very plain kitchen - white wood shaker style cupboards, wooden work surfaces and wooden upstands. We also went for a “feature” bit behind the cooker to brighten it up but tiles rather than a splashback. It looks great. Go with something bold Smile

Eminybob · 03/02/2018 20:59

Arghh I was hoping everyone would say the Ted Baker one is horrible so I could stop lusting over something I can’t have.

seriously considering changing order to a regular oven just so I can buy the splashback

Ted Baker one is a personal taste. If you find it dates you can always change it without changing the entire kitchen, so why not go for it if that's what you really want?

Eminybob · 03/02/2018 21:26

I would, but they don’t do it in the size I need.

We also have ivory cabinets with wooden counters and floors. We have black, grey and white mosaic tiles as the splash back. Been in 9 years and I still love it. It provides a bit of contrast but goes with any other colours you want to add.

Bluelady · 04/02/2018 13:44

I'll oblige. I think the TB is grotesque and you'll get tired of it very quickly. Another vote for glass here.
