Jesus Grin There's industrial and then there's...

To be fair I think it's mostly that the photos are awful, but still.

You could easily sub divide if you wanted.

So why haven't they? It makes me suspicious.
It's ridiculous to spend £2.5m on an incomplete dwelling.

dangerrabbit · 03/02/2018 14:12

Looks a bit dark but great location!

DuckOffAutocorrectYouShiv · 03/02/2018 14:52

senua why haven’t they subdivided? Because it’s an open plan loft living space. An urban architectural concept rather than y’know somewhere people actually live.

DuckOffAutocorrectYouShiv · 03/02/2018 14:55

It isn’t ‘incomplete’ Confused, it just isn’t chopped up into little boxes. Great for brutalist industrial fans but I agree that it’ll be chilly.

Jammycustard · 03/02/2018 14:56

It’s not terribly cosy.

Bluntness100 · 03/02/2018 14:59

That's a lot of prime real estate for the money. Location has everything to do with that price tag.

I also think you've never seen a squat. Once furnished that could be lovely. It's not like you buy it and have to sleep in the bed. You can bring your own in you know.

pinkginanyone · 03/02/2018 15:04

That Penthouse.... yes please 😍

HeatedCatFurniture · 03/02/2018 15:06

I did SAY I thought it wasn't as bad as the photos make it look Wink

Those windows are huge, so I bet it's actually really light so you can see all the dust.

It looks cold, dark and dingy not appealing at all. There are a much nicer 'industrial-style' flats in London, that one looks like they ran out of ideas or budget.

No doubt someone with more money than sense that considers themselves cool, hip and stylish will snap it up.

BuzzKillington · 03/02/2018 15:10

I think it's gorgeous!

TheQueenOfWands · 03/02/2018 15:13

Have they been robbed?

Where's all of their stuff?

dairymilkmonster · 03/02/2018 15:14

Not very cosy is it....wouldn't attract me even if it was cheap!

Oly5 · 03/02/2018 15:14

I love it!

AlbertaSimmons · 03/02/2018 15:19

Confused A squat? Really? I’m clearly on a parallel track cos I think it’s stunning and would move in tomorrow Grin.

TroysMammy · 03/02/2018 15:22

It looks like the inside of a shut down years ago asylum. The ones you see creepy photos of in the DM.

QueenAravisOfArchenland · 03/02/2018 15:29

It doesn't look like a squat at all. It looks like what it is - an industrial-chic, open-plan flat in a premier area that has had high-spec architect attention and fittings.

Yes it would probably cost a bomb to heat but not because it isn't insulated or properly treated, it's been very expensively done. I don't think you worry about heating bills a lot when you can afford to drop 2.5mil on an aggressively cool Clerkenwell flat which is really for a single person.

It's not exactly what I'm looking for at this stage in my life (and the photographer deserves to be shot for making it look so dark, I really doubt it is) but I love the look.

Fintress · 03/02/2018 15:38

Not keen on the warehouse but can see how it would appeal to people. I could quite happily move into that Belgravia penthouse right now. I love the outdoor space.

specialsubject · 03/02/2018 15:49

Architect design = totally impractical. No storage, dark and gloomy, environmental disaster (but this is London, who cares?) , no mention of heating so will be damp and dank. No curtains, even London gets early summer daylight so you will need an eye mask.

BellBookandCandle · 03/02/2018 15:51

@DuckOffAutocorrectYouShiv ......brutalist industrialist fan here.......I love it!

Love the 34m one as well.

Both are so much more interesting than your bland homogenised new builds (not that there is anything wrong with bland homogenised new builds)

CassandraCross · 03/02/2018 15:51

It screams Emperor's New Clothes to me.

QueenAravisOfArchenland · 03/02/2018 15:59

Both flats are also clearly uninhabited and have been dressed to sell - the Clerkenwell look is a minimalist one so they've undoubtedly removed a lot of the furniture. I seriously doubt the current owner slept on that futon.

I actually don't care much for the way they've dressed the Belgravia flat, it's very generic uninspired hotel look. The space is obviously fabulous but at 34mil I would fucking hope so.

SoupDragon · 03/02/2018 16:09

environmental disaster

Why?

KickAssAngel · 03/02/2018 16:16

I like the look of it but the "kitchen" doesn't have enough units for even a single person to store things.

The moment you put anything useful in - like a fridge or TV etc, it will lose "the look" and become a brick wall with a fridge plonked in front of it.

A single designer/architect type could maybe use it for week-day living in the city before going back to their real home in the home counties.
