My bathroom window - WWYD?

I have a wonderful sea view from 2 windows in my new house - DD's bedroom (lucky DD) and the bathroom window.

Except the bathroom window is frosted glass so the neighbors can't see in.

Now we are higher up than our neighbours so we only really have a privacy issue when in shower/bath. I want to replace the frosted glass with clear glass, & then fashion some kind of blind or curtain to close when necessary.

Just puzzling over how to best go about this - and was wondering WWYD in this situation?

photo to follow.

That's one f the few benefits of upvc Windows - those Perfect Fit bottom up blinds that clip into the window frame.
If you're already higher than the neighbour's, you would only need it pulled up a few inches, unless you have neighbour's with incredible bouncy up down reflective eyesight.

You could maybe look at the wooden shutter blinds? I think they can fold back to the sides of the window

If not I have just wooden blinds that you can twist for privacy

I don't think there is a privacy issue as its the back of the house and there are many windows looking out over the neighbors (and them back at us). But I will check.

If privacy isn't an issue I think wooden shutter blinds would be nice. If I had a bathroom with a sea view I would have to go all out 'New England' coastal style.

Another one who would love to see pics when you're done!

Yes to white Venetian style blinds or fold back shutters. The coastal American look is what I would do too.

Is it really with the hassle? How many minutes in the day would you spend in the bathroom gazing at the view?

Is it really with the hassle? How many minutes in the day would you spend in the bathroom gazing at the view? A few seconds of that every morning would give you a lift for the day! Gotta make the most of these treasures. Smile
Brushing your teeth is a couple of minutes at least Wink

I think the window would look miles better with clear glass anyway. Unless you are really overlooked, opaque glass is not used so much these days. Go for the view!

My front door has a double glazing with a Venetian blind inside the glass - there's two knobs on one side which slide up and down to open/close and tilt the blind. Not sure if you can get that set up in a bigger pane, but might be worth looking into.

You can get conservatory blinds that open up and down, they are lovely.

For me it absolutely is worth it. For others it's not a big deal - I get that. Someone put this frosted glass in in the first place afterall.

It's not about minutes gazing at the view- its about snippets of loveliness in my day. It's about a feeling of connecting with the environment in a tiny way.

the shower/bath is immediately to left of the window so I can't see fold back wooden shutters working - though I agree they are lovely.

I'm not ready to completely refit the bathroom yet.

So get white wood Venetian blinds. They can be made to fit. Fabric not much good in a bathroom. I like Luxaflex blinds. Not cheap but they are smart.
