How much for Howdens kitchen?

I am finally able to re-do our kitchen and would like some rough ideas about what I am likely to pay if I go down the route of a howdens kitchen fitted by local company. I have small u shaped kitchen of about 3, 2.5 and 3m walls so not huge and would also want a new fridge, oven, hob and diswasher. Worktop would probably be laminate as we currently have wood and it is a mess. I was hoping I could do it for around 7k fitted. Is this feasible or not? I have never bought a new kitchen so am clueless really.

That's a lot to fit into £7k. Fitting will be a grand, and even if you buy cheap appliances, four of them will probably come to £1.5k. That leaves you £4.5k for the units and worktops - it's doable! But you will need to buy carefully Smile

With Howdens, don't take the first price they offer! It is maybe just about doable although I am not sure about the appliances.

AJPTaylor · 22/01/2018 14:47

I reckon thats doable. Dont buy their appliances. Go with JL or Aol. We got ours from JL, just arranged delivery on the right date..our builder said that howdens can be tricky if appliances break down.

Alwaysatyke · 22/01/2018 14:54

I think that's possible, my Howdens kitchen was about £3500 excl appliances (bought cheaper from ao) plus about the same again to fit, but we had A LOT of remedial work to do in the kitchen (replastering etc) so fitting was dearer than normal, and our kitchen's bigger than that I think. Look for a fitter who advertises as doing Howdens, they get bigger discounts the more they do, and as pp said don't accept first quote.

I just recently bought a basic range kitchen with hob extractor and oven sink and taps from Howdens, for 1250. I haggled a bit over the phone and got free delivery and bit more knocked off. This is just for a rental property and my builder is going to fit it. I would say your budget is definately do able. Agree with the above, don't accept their first price.

I've just bought some appliances (hob, hood, oven, dishwasher etc) and found that Cameo Kitchens was the cheapest. Delivery was really quick, and they give you a package discount if you buy multiple appliances from them. We're having a Howden's kitchen in our new house. I don't know what it has cost, because it is part of what the architect/builder are putting into the house, but having been over to see progress last week, it is really good quality.

Used howdens and a fitter of our choice. You could do for your budget IF you source your own appliances and get a cheapish fitter.

Don't buy from the high street or Howdens until you have spoken with Chris at CK Kitchens in Cheltenham. They deliver nationwide. They are as close to the bottom of the (ridiculously marked up) kitchen food chain as we could get. Fitted out a 4x4m kitchen for c.4k. Solid wood, in frame, painted. They supply the showrooms..

We got cost price on our huge Howdens burford. Was 4700 for everything. Try negotiating.

Hate howdens & their secret nod & a wink pricing structure.
Cost does come into play when choosing products & now my builder who paid for everything has fucked off I'm not even sure if things are covered by a guarantee.
Only went with Howdens because the builder made sound so easy. Yet builder has managed to move house, change phone number & email . Sorry changing subject & begining to froth & the mouth...
