Osmo bloody oil - advice on external application

My new extension is clad in cedar. This was coated with an Osmo UV oil to protect it before Christmas. The oil says that it can't be applied below 5 degrees C - so we deliberately left it to a period in December with temperatures of 8-9 for a few days.

It still isn't bloody dry over a month later!

I rang the Osmo technical helpline, and they advise stripping the whole lot back with meths, sanding, allowing it to weather for 12 weeks, and then recoating.

Both the builder and I think this is likely to wreck the cedar.

I am SO pissed off. This product costs something like £50 a can, and it's less useful than ordinary Danish oil.

Has anyone else had this issue? What did you do?
