Cold radiators

We have had an engineer out today because we have two upstairs radiators which are cold. He's tried to fish the system a bit today between to two rads and had no luck. He's then tried to drain the system to get to the problem and couldn't because of the blockage. He's coming back another day to force some oxygen along. Failing that he's going to have to take up laminate follow plus floorboards and cut the piping out - expensive.😢😢🙈
I'm just wondering how successful the oxygen tends to be? Has anyone had this done before? It's January and we don't have the cash flow.😬

Just a thought but I had a stubborn radiator which refused to warm up despite all around it doing so.
In the end I isolated the problem to be the fact that the pin in the thermostatic radiator valve was jammed.
Some radiator valves are not adjusted much for temp (this was in a spare bedroom) and the pin was stuck just through lack of use. I unscrewed the top of the valve, pushed down on the pin a few times with my thumb to release it and put the top back on.
I checked the valve at the other end was open and turned the TRV up to '5' or Max. The heat began to come through quite quickly.

It's not a thermostatic radiator unfortunately we've had the valve off totally and no trickle of water appeared.

Can you get any trapped air out by bleeding the pump? I assume your engineer tried this.

Yes he did with no joy.😔
